Evening Desert Safari in Abu Dhabi: what to expect

Our evening desert safari picks you up from your Abu Dhabi hotel at 2:30–3:30 PM and drives you about 45 minutes along Al Ain Road to the Al Khatim desert near Al Khazna. You get 4x4 dune bashing, a camel farm stop, sunset on the dunes, then an evening at our Bedouin-style camp with a camel ride, henna, live Tanoura, belly dance and fire shows, and a BBQ dinner. You are back at your hotel by 8:30–9:30 PM. Prices start at AED 250 per adult on a shared Land Cruiser.

Xtreme Sightseeing Tourism LLC is a DCT-approved local operator, not a reseller. The same team picks you up, drives the dunes and runs the camp.

Is it right for you?

• Families: children are welcome. Children are charged AED 200. The tour isn't recommended for babies under one. Child seats are available if you ask when booking.
• Rather skip dune bashing? Book a private car and we drive you straight to the camp.
• Not suitable for: pregnant guests, or anyone with heart or back problems, because dune bashing is bumpy.
• What to wear: comfortable clothes and closed shoes. From October to March, bring a warm layer for the evening.

Your evening, step by step

1. 2:30–3:30 PM: pickup from your hotel, mall or apartment in Abu Dhabi.
2. On the way: about 45 minutes along Al Ain Road; your marshal talks about Bedouin life and the desert.
3. Late afternoon: dune bashing, a camel farm stop, sandboarding and sunset photos.
4. After sunset: welcome drinks at the camp, a camel ride, henna and costume photos.
5. Evening: live Tanoura, belly dance and fire shows, then the BBQ dinner.
6. 8:30–9:30 PM: drop-off back where you were picked up.

Shared car

• Pickup: 2:30–3:30 PM
• Drop-off: 8:30–9:30 PM

Private car

• Pickup: any time you choose; most guests go at 3:00–3:30 PM
• Drop-off: 8:30–9:30 PM

The whole evening takes about 6 hours, door to door.

• Pickup points: hotels, malls and apartment buildings in Abu Dhabi city.
• Drop-off: the same point you were picked up from. A private car can drop you anywhere within Abu Dhabi city, and a Dubai drop-off costs AED 450.
• Meeting time: we confirm the exact pickup time by WhatsApp the day before.
• Bring: your booking voucher (printed or on your phone), a warm layer in winter, and cash or a card for paid extras.

Not Suitable for Everyone: This experience is not advised for pregnant women, individuals with heart conditions, or those who suffer from back or other medical problems.

Group Size and Seating: Each Land Cruiser accommodates up to six guests on a shared basis, ensuring both safety and comfort.

Children and Infants:

• The tour is not recommended for children under the age of one.
• Parents are responsible for holding their children, as child seats are not provided unless requested during booking.
• Infants can join if you inform us in advance and are charged at the child rate.

What to Wear and Bring

Dress for the Desert: We recommend wearing comfortable trousers and closed-toe shoes, especially if you plan to try quad biking.

Winter Attire: From October through March, pack warm clothing to stay cosy during cooler evenings.

Cultural Respect: Modest attire is appreciated to respect local customs.

Weather and Cancellations

Weather-Proof Adventures: The Evening Safari operates regardless of weather conditions. In the rare event of cancellation due to extreme weather, you may opt for a full refund or reschedule the tour.

Flexible Cancellation Policy

• Cancel 12 hours or more before departure—no fees apply.
• Cancel within 12 hours of departure - 100 percent cancellation charges apply.
• Eligible refunds are processed within 7 working days.
